Admittedly, you don’t just happen to come across the Perntal. But for that, its location is all the more beautiful! Situated at the edge of the forest above Gais in South Tyrol, quiet yet near the action, if that is what you’re looking for. Between the Dolomites and the Zillertal Alps, between the larger towns of Brunico and Campo Tures. Between mountains and the valley.
From Munich, Innsbruck or Verona, take the A22 Brenner motorway to the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then continue on the SS49/E66 Val Pusteria national road towards Brunico/Val Pusteria. After 35 km take the exit to Brunico Est and follow the signs to Teodone/Villa Santa Caterina. In Villa Santa Caterina turn right into Via Villa Santa Caterina and continue to Perntal.
From Venice/Mestre on the A27 towards Belluno, and via Cortina to Dobbiaco. From there, continue on the Val Pusteria national road SS49/E66 towards Brunico. After 25 km take the exit to Brunico Est and follow the signs to Teodone/Villa Santa Caterina. In Villa Santa Caterina turn right into Via Villa Santa Caterina and continue to Perntal.
The public transport network in South Tyrol is well organised and generally reliable. The best route to Val Pusteria is via the connecting railways station in Fortezza/Franzensfeste, where the fast trains run by Trenitalia, ÖBB and DB all stop. From here, trains to Brunico railway station run every half hour. Then take a taxi to Perntal.
